The short answer

Rogue starts with Sinister Strike. The checked menu emphasizes speed and critical hits while describing the class as fragile. Those themes explain what to look for in offered cards; they do not establish a guaranteed high-damage combination.

Original-game player case study

Rogue: narrow the upgrade pool and follow the necklace

A developed 31/16/4 character; the creator retains several damage branches while limiting support-skill upgrades.

Starting point and difficulty

The opening shows a female Troll Rogue, Normal difficulty, 55/60 equipment collected and all 12 zones open. At 0:03, all 51 talent points are spent: 31 Assassination, 16 Combat and 4 Subtlety. An orc hashtag does not establish the displayed race. This is an invested character; exact game version unknown. No usable transcript was available, so the advice below comes from public creator replies and selected frames.

Take support, stop its later upgrades

A viewer asks why Adrenaline Rush and Ghostly Strike are acquired then banished. The creator confirms that he concentrates on one or two main damage skills, while acquired support can still interact with rings and trinkets. Removing unwanted future upgrades narrows the pool. This does not establish an exact mathematical increase in offer probability or mean an already learned skill is deleted.

Keep damage branches open

He explicitly keeps Eviscerate, Sinister Strike and Backstab available: a matching necklace can justify changing the main investment. He also recommends an early luck necklace. Another viewer reports clearing without a Backstab necklace; that is an individual anecdote, not a drop-rate test. A fixed necklace, full jewelry list or universally best primary skill has not been established here.

Keep other runs separate

Later inspected frames show item-trigger damage contributing heavily, so equipment matters beyond basic class skills. In a reply, the creator says most of his other runs use 2x difficulty. This particular opening says Normal: it is not evidence of a 2x or +300% clear. No formal ending panel or independent same-start comparison is claimed.

Opening spell · original v0.103.1 menuSinister Strike

Rogue starts with Sinister Strike. The checked menu emphasizes speed and critical hits while describing the class as fragile. Those themes explain what to look for in offered cards; they do not establish a guaranteed high-damage combination.

Starting spell names here are standard English translations of the checked Chinese menu. Read the current game’s spell text if an update changes it.

Choose upgrades for the problem in front of you

A card mentions critical hits

Read the trigger and the effect. An increase in critical chance is different from an effect that happens after a critical hit, and neither should be assigned an invented damage multiplier.

You die before the setup develops

Note whether the problem is taking repeated hits or being trapped. Compare a defensive offer with another offensive one and record when the decision happened.

A guide recommends a familiar WoW spec

Check whether it describes this original game. Familiar class names do not mean retail or Classic talent builds transfer into this fan game.

A repeatable experiment for your next run

Write down the exact critical-related card text and the level you chose it. On a comparable run, change only that priority and record both survivability and the result, rather than relying on one large damage number.

  • Class, region and difficulty.
  • Permanent equipment and talents already available.
  • Offered cards, your choices and any missing item.
  • The situation that ended the run, or the objective you reached.

Open a Rogue notebook

This selects a class in the notebook. It does not choose upgrades or change your game save; save or export your notes when you want to keep them.

Before copying another player’s build

Check the version, region, difficulty and permanent investment. A highly developed character can perform differently from a fresh one, even with similarly named spells.

Use the current card descriptions and keep a backup before moving to another browser or build. If a guide shows different controls or maps, check whether it describes the community reconstruction rather than the original.

Common questions

Is Rogue’s fragility a measured tier ranking?

No. Fragility is part of the checked menu description. It does not establish an overall win rate or a rank compared with developed characters from other classes.

Will this build be selected automatically in the game?

No. These are reference notes. You still choose the cards offered in the original game, and the notebook stores only your planning text.
