Original-game player case study
Demonology Warlock: pets, Empowerment and the necklace
Focus Shadow Bolt, Hellfire and Demonic Empowerment; the creator changes his patch assessment after finding the intended necklace.

Starting point and talents
Holdherhand describes full tier-three equipment and Atiesh. This is an established character, not a new-save route. He says a large patch changed Doomguard, Infernal and Bane, but this is his first test after the changes, not an official patch note or a verified current talent allocation. The precise game build is not established.
Keep upgrades on three abilities
The starting attack is Shadow Bolt. The intended investment is Shadow Bolt, Hellfire and Demonic Empowerment. He explicitly discusses banishing later upgrades for Soulfire, Drain Life and Death Coil, so these do not keep competing for the desired upgrades. Choose a useful offer among the intended abilities; the video does not promise a fixed card sequence. His explanation connects Shadow Bolt damage to Doomguard and Hellfire damage to Infernal. We do not copy old or ambiguous multipliers into a current formula.
Equipment and a missing-necklace plan
His target is the necklace that strengthens Demonic Empowerment; he mentions a Hellfire necklace as a fallback. Rings supply damage and cooldown reduction. Trinkets supply luck plus the pet/buff-supporting effect he describes, with double casting as an alternative to luck. Exact uncertain item names are omitted. Luck is his preference, not a demonstrated drop-rate calculation. At 12:32 he spends rerolls without the necklace; at 20:03 he finally obtains it and reports much better demons. Until the item appears, treat this as an incomplete combination rather than assuming its finished damage.
What the run actually teaches
Near 25:15 the creator revises his initial nerf assessment after the necklace interaction works. That is a useful equipment-dependency lesson, not proof of the strongest class. His possible Affliction/Pit Lord and alternative-pet ideas are future experiments, not tested recipes. We have not independently reproduced this clear.
Warlock starting spell and build direction
Warlock starts with Shadow Bolt in the checked menu, which highlights curses, fire and damage over time. Treat any specific Soul Fire or Agony recording as a separate player example until its version and setup have been checked.
Starting spell names here are standard English translations of the checked Chinese menu. Read the current game’s spell text if an update changes it.
Choose upgrades for the problem in front of you
A curse is offered
Read its trigger and effect in the current card. A curse name familiar from World of Warcraft does not establish its exact behavior in this game.
You are choosing another damage-over-time effect
Record whether the offer adds a new source or improves one you already use. Note when enemies began surviving long enough to threaten your route.
A guide claims a high-luck strategy
Check the equipment, talents and game build behind the claim. Without those details, a result cannot establish a repeatable fresh-character path or a required luck value.
A repeatable experiment for your next run
Keep the region, difficulty and permanent progress consistent. Write down the exact curse or spell improvement, when it appeared, and whether pressure from surviving enemies changed after that choice.
- Class, region and difficulty.
- Permanent equipment and talents already available.
- Offered cards, your choices and any missing item.
- The situation that ended the run, or the objective you reached.
This selects a class in the notebook. It does not choose upgrades or change your game save; save or export your notes when you want to keep them.
Before copying another player’s build
Check the version, region, difficulty and permanent investment. A highly developed character can perform differently from a fresh one, even with similarly named spells.
Use the current card descriptions and keep a backup before moving to another browser or build. If a guide shows different controls or maps, check whether it describes the community reconstruction rather than the original.
Player recording: a Soulfire / Agony direction
Windowtismm titles the original recording Soulfire/agony & luck build. The result screen at 21:25 shows Human Warlock, Duskwood, Victory and a Warsong Gulch unlock. It documents one historical direction worth studying.
The creator of this recording describes permanent equipment from bosses, talent XP earned each run and balance still in progress. Permanent progression matters: this is not a fresh-character guarantee or a current-version best-build test.
Common questions
Are Soul Fire and Agony guaranteed to appear in order?
No guaranteed offer order is established here. Evaluate the cards in your actual run and check version-specific evidence before copying a recording.
Will this build be selected automatically in the game?
No. These are reference notes. You still choose the cards offered in the original game, and the notebook stores only your planning text.
